    Helpful terminology:

    • Uncapped: No limit on the amount of data that can be downloaded
    • Static and Dynamic IP addresses: A Static IP Address is usually required if you need to manage
servers remotely and need to know the exact IP addresses Eg : For CCTV cameras and
    management servers
    • Symmetrical: Same upload and download speeds. Businesses like designers or architects that
upload large graphic files or businesses that have high usage on fixed voice would require
    substantial upload speed as well
    • Asymmetrical: Different upload and download speeds with upload speed usually being slower
than download speed, suitable for accessing the internet
    • Contention ratio: All Broadband services are ‘contended services’, implying that the bandwidth is
shared, so users contend for it – and the more users, the slower the service, i.e. during peak times
daily if the network becomes congested

    Making the call

You can also use your Fibre service to make voice calls. Port your existing landline number (021, 031, 041 etc)
or Vodacom can assign you a new
    landline number (087, 021, 031, 041)

This can save you up to 20% on your monthly voice bill. This way you also get free Vodacom-to-Vodacom calls when calling from one landline number to another.

The quality of voice calls depends on factors like the number of users on your line, download/upload speed, etc. A commited voice channel can be subscribed to on your Fibre service that allocates
dedicated bandwidth to the voice service.
